Q1:How can I create 3D data?

You can create 3D data using 3D CAD software. We recommend a program such as Autodesk 123D Design, which can be used for free on both Windows and Mac.

.

Q2:What data formats can be used for manufacture?

Data formats usable for manufacture

  • OBJ
  • STL
  • PLY
  • VRML(wrl)

  • Set the unit of measurement to millimeters (mm). We support OBJ, VRML (wrl) for full color 3D data. When uploading with an included texture file (in PNG, JPG, and BMP format), please upload the files together in a single ZIP file.
We do not support file formats other than those listed above.

    .

Q3:What is the maximum size of files that can be uploaded?

The largest file we allow to be uploaded is 200MB per file, irrespective of the file format.

    .

Q4:Will my uploaded model data be automatically corrected?

If the 3D data you have uploaded to us can be corrected automatically or with a few minutes work, it will be corrected for free. If more correction than this is necessary, it will become chargeable and we will contact you by email with a separate quote.

    .

Q5:Is it possible to manufacture from data that includes texture?

Manufacture is possible when the material used is full color gypsum.

    .

Q6:Is it possible to upload multiple sets of 3D data together?

Uploads are set to one set of 3D data per product, therefore it is not possible to upload multiple sets of 3D data at once.

    .

Q7:Can VRML (WRL) data with colored vertices be formed in full color?

Yes, this is possible. Even if there is no texture, as long as there is color data attached to the vertices of the object it can be formed in full color.

    .

Q8:What should I do in order to form 3D data with attached texture in full color?

The formats that support full color are OBJ or VRML (WRL) files. In the case of OBJ, put the OBJ file, the texture file and the MTL file into a single zip file and upload it to rinkak. In the case of WRL, put the WRL file and the texture file into a single zip file and upload it to rinkak.

    .

Q9:Notes when uploading a texture file

On the occasion of attaching a texture file on the data of Wavefront .obj format, “absolute path” also can be automatically attached. In that case, the data might be regarded as non manufacturable data by factories, please confirm below notes before compressing data by zip.
(Moreover, it’s not necessary if the data is created by vertex colour. )

    1. Check the contents of folder before zip compressing

ex) I will explain in the example that, for full color pluster output, draw out 3D model by the format of obj and create a texture data unfolded in UV way. Three kind of data (mtl、.obj、texture) are included in a folder.

    2. Open a “.mtl” file on optional text editing software

As the above picture, when “absolute path” which like indicated by yellow line on ninth row, please perform below process.

※If “absolute path” is left, delete all of them excluding “relative path”.

    Sublime (Mac/Win//Linux) http://www.sublimetext.com/

    3. Delete absolute path, and then overwrite leaving only relative path.

On finishing overwrite save, close the data and compress by zip, and then upload them to rinkak. Doe to confirmation above, factories can manufacture them smoothly.

    .

Q10:Is uploaded data able to be updated to new 3D data?

In rinkak, we don't provide the function such as updating a data uploaded before. It would be very helpful if you could upload data as a new product after deleting original one. We appreciate your help.

    .

Q11:How should I do if there is a data which requires multiple parts per product?

As long as the product require multiple parts per product, display parts in a file and then upload a file.

    .

Q12:How can a unloaded model data be deleted?

Due to click “Delete product” located on lower right of product editing page, product can be deleted.

    .

Q13:What is available name for uploading data?

Half-width alphanumeric can be used as data name. Any double-byte characters, space (blank) and signal are not suitable. Even if multiple data like texture are included in zip, you should obey this rule.

    .

Q14:Is it possible to manufacture with handdrawing?

We don't provide service such as creating 3D data from handdrawing data. After preparing 3D data, please upload data from “Sell”page. As of corporate client, please contact us in “contact form”.

    .

Q15:What should I do if there is a data which requires multiple parts per product?

As long as the product require multiple parts per product, display parts on a product and then upload a file.

    .

Q16:What is available name for uploading data?

Half-width alphanumeric can be used as data name. Any double-byte characters, space (blank) and signal are not suitable. Even if multiple data like texture are included in zip, you should obey this rule.

    .

Q17:Is it possible to manufacture with handmade?

We don't provide service such as creating 3D data from handmade data. After preparing 3D data, please upload data from ”Make” page. As of corporate client, please contact us in “contact form”.
